Speaking at Stonewall Tell Elementary: How I Turned My ADHD Into a Superpower
The secret is out!
Last month I had the opportunity to inspire students with disabilities at Stonewall Tell Elementary School in Southwest Atlanta, GA through my debut speech, “Building Futures: Embracing Your Superpower.” It was beautiful!
I shared my journey growing up with ADD/ADHD and how it shaped my path. From struggling in school to getting fired from my first job, I talked about real-life challenges and the lessons I learned along the way. I also shared how I eventually found my rhythm, started my own business, and turned what once felt like a weakness into one of my biggest superpowers.
Completely shifting the narrative, I reminded the students that they are unique in their own way—and that the world needs their superpower. Disabilities aren’t flaws; they’re often the very things that make us shine.
I encouraged both the parents and students to learn more about their disability, how it shows up in their relationships and everyday life, to embrace it when it comes along, and above all—keep doing what it takes. It may take a little more effort, but it’s worth it to build a life they truly love.
If you know a school or program that would love to bring in an entrepreneurial, neurodivergent big sister to pour into the lives of the youth and inspire possibility —please send them my way!
I’m available for school visits, youth talks, and empowerment workshops, beyond!
