Coming Home to Spelman: What It Means to Be a Spelman Woman

There’s something sacred about returning to Spelman.
It’s not just the gates, the chapel, or the familiar hum of the promenade. It’s the knowing. The legacy. The deep understanding that being a Spelman woman is something you carry in your walk, your work, and your witness—forever

Spelman shaped me in ways I’m still discovering. It taught me how to lead with purpose, create with excellence, and speak truth with love. It’s where I found my voice. Where I learned the power of sisterhood. Where I first dreamed up the vision that would become Cami Co. Lace.

This weekend, I get to bring that vision back to where it all began.

As we prepare to showcase our latest designs at the Spelman Alumnae Reunion Market, I can’t help but feel full-circle. Every lace-up hoodie and custom piece we’re bringing is infused with the same bold, beautiful spirit I felt as a student walking these grounds.

To every Spelman woman coming home this weekend: I hope you stop by, say hey, and maybe find a piece that speaks to who you are—then and now. Because being a Spelman woman never fades. It evolves, it expands, and it glows brighter with time.

If you're looking for something made just for you, be sure to check out our custom order page. Whether you're celebrating a class reunion or your everyday brilliance, we'd love to help bring your vision to life.

You can shop our dedicated Spelman Collection to find designs inspired by the sisterhood and pride that only Spelman women know.

For those who are new to our journey, read the Founder’s Story and learn how Spelman helped shape both the woman and the brand behind Cami Co. Lace.
